1. Dough

"Dough" is a Swedish crime drama that blends elements of a thriller, black comedy, and social drama. The story follows Malou, a woman from an upper-class background living in an affluent Stockholm suburb. When her life begins to crumble due to financial struggles and business failures, she accidentally stumbles upon a bag containing 47 million Swedish kronor—money that disappeared during a bank robbery. Instead of reporting it to the police, Malou decides to keep the money and use it to start her own business—opening a bakery. However, the criminals behind the bank robbery want their money back, including Liana, a single mother whose partner ended up in prison because of the heist. Desperate to secure a better future for herself and her son, Liana discovers that Malou has the money, intertwining their fates in a tense game of lies and survival. The lead roles are played by Helena af Sandeberg as Malou and Bianca Kronlöf as Liana.

2. Ammo

Bjørn Urdal, a former businessman facing an identity crisis, unexpectedly gets the opportunity to become a key sales agent at a Norwegian arms manufacturing company. As he delves into the world of military contracts, geopolitical intrigue, and moral dilemmas, he soon realizes that behind the profits lie dark secrets and ethical compromises. With artificial intelligence increasingly integrated into modern weaponry, Bjørn grapples with questions about human responsibility and the potential consequences of machine-driven warfare. Torn between his beliefs, family ties, and pressure from powerful interests, he must decide whether to remain part of the system or attempt to dismantle it from within. The series tackles themes such as weapons technology, the potential of "killer robots," and Norway's role as an arms exporter, offering viewers a thought-provoking take on contemporary moral dilemmas. Created by Ole Marius Araldsen and Nicolai Cleve Broch, who also stars as Bjørn Urdal.

3. White Sands

"White Sands" is a Danish crime series that combines thriller, drama, and mystery elements, set in the idyllic yet enigmatic coastal town of Hvide Sande. After the unsolved murder of a young German surfer in this small tourist community, local police struggle to gather evidence or leads to crack the case. To uncover information, Danish authorities send two experienced detectives—Helene Falck, an undercover operations expert, and Thomas Beckmann, a seasoned homicide investigator. They must infiltrate the local community under the guise of a happily married couple who have left city life in search of tranquility by the sea. However, what initially appears to be a straightforward assignment quickly turns into a complex investigation, as the residents of Hvide Sande are wary of outsiders, and the crime holds more secrets than it first seemed.

4. Hostage

This Swedish thriller series follows the hijacking of a Nordic Airlines flight from Stockholm to San Francisco. The plane is remotely taken over, and the crisis soon escalates into an international incident when the hijackers present their demands—calling for the release of an imprisoned Lebanese professor and the disclosure of confidential documents that could shake the government. Swedish authorities face impossible decisions as criminologist Fredrika Bergman and investigator Alex Recht reunite to identify the hijackers before the plane is shot down or destroyed. During the investigation, Fredrika begins to suspect that the truth is closer than it seems. The series explores themes of power, corruption, and cyber threats, delivering a gripping story of survival, moral dilemmas, and secrets that come to light in moments of crisis.

5. Dome 16

Set in a dystopian 2138, this series portrays a world divided between those who live inside high-tech domes and those left to survive harsh conditions outside. The domes provide protection from extreme pollution and radiation, allowing residents to live up to 160 years, while those outside struggle in severe conditions with a life expectancy of only 60 years. The protagonist, 16-year-old Anton, has grown up inside the dome, enjoying a privileged life, but he begins to question the confined world around him. Emma, a girl the same age, lives outside the dome, finding ways to endure the harsh environment. When the two unexpectedly meet, a forbidden love story unfolds, forcing them to challenge the rules of the society they belong to. The series explores themes of social division, environmental catastrophe, and youthful rebellion, offering a modern take on the story of Romeo and Juliet in a futuristic setting.
