In 1983, prisoner Larry Marley leads a group of 38 Irish Republican Army inmates as they stage a breakout from Ireland's highly secure HM Prison Maze, the biggest prison escape in U.K. history. Larry spends years plotting, discerning the prison's weaknesses and befriending a guard named Gordon and exploiting his trust.
